In the year 1967 some 20 families from Nalgonda District of erstwhile Andhra Pradesh migrated to Vandrikkal (Arogyanagar) Boorgitha and Ramalaxmanpally of Kamareddy Mandal. Thus, there were three catholic communities in these respective places.

In Vandrikkal village, the area where these Catholics got settled was named as “Arogyanagar.” Rev. Fr. Dhanraj from Dharmaram came here and offered Mass for the first time on 26 Dec 1967 in a temporary shed. From the year 1968 to 1971 Fr Ammappareddy Innaiah from Jadi Jamalpur visited this village to offer Mass. From 1971 to 1974 Fr T.E. Rayappa and Fr George Vettukallumpuram CMI from Bodhan attended to the needs of the people. Fr George Vettukallumpuram CMI introduced “Food for Work” programme at Arogyanagar.

In the year 1974, then Archbishop of Hyderabad gave permission to Fr Remigi Nadackal CMI to take care of the pastoral needs of the new communities settled in these villages. So, he came and settled in Boorgitha. The concerted efforts of Fr Remigi resulted in the creation of a small parish at Boorgitha named St Francis of Assisi Parish of Lourdnagar. Fr. Remigi took charge of the parish on 28th July 1974. He continued the “Food for Work” programme. He constructed a small convent for FCC sisters at Boorgitha in  the same year and a chapel cum presbytery by February 1975. He also constructed small churches at Arogyanagar, Yellareddy, Lingampet, Kamareddy and Ramalaxanpally, which were substations of Lourdnagar Parish.

Fr Remigi worked tirelessly to establish three Health Care Centres at Yellareddy, Lingampet and Kamareddy and English Medium Schools at Yellareddy and Kamareddy. During this period, he also formed a charitable non-profitable society  named  “Jeevadan Seva Samaj” (meaning Life Giving Service Society). All charitable works were undertaken and executed under the banner of this Society. He was its director until his death on 30th July 1991.. After his sudden demise, Fr Mathai Thonikuzhy CMI took charge of the parish till 1994.

On 15th August 1995, Kamareddy Mission Station and Yellareddy Mission Stations were raised to the status of Parishes and they were entrusted to the CMI Priests. Rev. Fr. Joseph Manjaly CMI and Fr Jose Manickathan CMI were appointed Parish Priests of Kamareddy and Yellareddy respectively.

Rev. Fr. Remigi Nadackal CMI, a passionate missionary Priest who ventured into the remote villages of Yellareddy and Kamareddy to disseminate the Word of God and empower the poor people to earn their livelihood. His compassionate heart and vision for the future transformed the lives of hundreds of people living in the remote areas. Definitely, commendable works were undertaken by Jeevadan Seva Samaj (JSS) under the leadership of Fr Remigi and his successors. Since last 50 years JSS renders innumerable charitable works which has resulted in the development of the society in these villages.
